I don’t like to write fighters off because a lot can happen in boxing; timing, opportunity, a weak champion. But what I would say is in order for him to do so he has to show a lot of improvements to what I’ve seen already. Middleweight, it’s a tough division.

Commonwealth Games gold medallist
In his bout at the weekend he got caught more than I expected him too but he was boxing after a long lay-off. For him to become a world champion I feel he would have to improve massively and get the right champion at the right time. He has a great chin and his new coach, the legendary Roy Jones, is very knowledgeable so only time will tell.

Eubank Jnr has come on loads since he turned pro and already proved a lot of doubters wrong but he hasn’t been anywhere near active enough to show that he can reach the pinnacle of world boxing.

Yes, I do. Now he’s back at his proper weight of 160lbs I think it will happen. He’s at number 1 with the WBA and a fight vs their champion, Ryo Murata, I believe would be winnable. I’d also give him a fighting chance against the other champions in the division.
