Vincent Feigenbutz vs. Felix Sturm Agreement Reached For Fall Clash

Boxing Scene

Wasserman Sports has announced an all-German clash between Vincent Feigenbutz (32-3) and Felix Sturm (41-5-3) to go ahead in the fall. Neither date nor site is announced but they write “it’s confirmed”. However, the 42-year old Sturm must first get past James Kraft (19-0-1) on June 19 in Hamburg.

Another question mark is at which weight the fight is made. Feigenbutz lost to Caleb Plant early 2020 at super middleweight but dropped down to middleweight when he beat Jama Saidi in August of last year.

Sturm last fought at middleweight in 2014 and then moved up to 168 and he was at super middle for his comeback fight in December of last year.

This is the first major fight announced by Wasserman, whose boxing department is run by Kalle Sauerland.

Former WBA interim, IBO and EBU light heavyweight champ Dominic Boesel (30-2) returns to action on Saturday May 22 in Ptuj, Slovenia, and is in against Czech journeyman Ondrey Budera (14-20-1).

Boesel was knocked out by Robin Krasniqi last time out in what was a minor upset.

Boesel and trainer Dirk Dzemski have been on a training camp in Slovenia run by former IBF welterweight king and former stablemate at SES Jan Zaveck.

The fight for the vacant EBU light heavy title between Russian Igor Mikhalkin (24-2) and Frenchman Matheiu Bauderligue (20-1) is now according to the EBU moved from Hamburg to Cap D’Agde (France) with July 28 as date. The fight was previously on for August 14 in Hamburg.

Spanish super welterweight Kerman Lejarraga is now the official challenger for the vacant EBU title. Co-challenger is since before Frenchman Dylan Charrat.

The EBU has set June 9 as the deadline for purse bids.

This leaves Italian Orlando Fiordigiglio without a challenger at the EU title level.
