Shakur Stevenson Dominates Jeremiah Nakathila Over Twelve For WBO Interim-Title

Boxing Scene

Virgin Hotels, Las Vegas – For the WBO’s interim-super featherweight title, Shakur Stevenson (16-0, 8 KOs) dominated Jeremiah Nakathila (21-2, 17 KOs) over twelve rounds to secure a lopsided unanimous decision. The scores were 120-107 across the board.

Stevenson is now in line to fight full WBO champion Jamel Herring, who was ringside to watch the fight.

The contest began as a technical contest, with Stevenson landing the better punches. The same in the second with Stevenson land a few more in a very technical fight. More the same in the third and fourth, Nakathila was just unable to get off with the necessary punches, with Stevenson connecting with accurate punches. A flash knockdown was scored by Stevenson at the end of the fourth.

Stevenson was easily outboxing Nakathila in the next few rounds. He seemed to bother Nakathila every time he landed flush. In the eight, Stevenson was starting to land more often, as Nakathila was just unable to land much of anything. Stevenson was outboxing Nakathila in the ninth and continued to box his ears off in the tenth.

Not much of a change in the eleventh and twelfth, with Stevenson dominating the action with his boxing and accurate punches.
