Dalton Smith-Sam Maxwell, DAZN Undercard Weigh-In Report From Sheffield

Dalton Smith remained a model of consistency at the scales.

The unbeaten 26-year-old prospect was a fighting fit 139.4 pounds, within the tight weight range for his last eight fights and ahead of his hometown headliner. Sam Maxwell was also 139.4 pounds for their regional title fight Saturday on DAZN from Utilita Arena in Smith’s hometown of Sheffield, England.

Smith (14-0, 10KOs) has gone the twelve-round distance in each of his past two starts. In his most recent win, the 26-year-old Sheffield native widely outpointed Billy Allington on the Mauricio Lara-Leigh Wood I undercard February 18 in Nottingham. A win on Saturday will prompt Matchroom Boxing and manager Paul Ready to advance him to the true contender level.

Liverpool’s Maxwell (17-1, 11KOs) was also on the Lara-Wood I card, where he won a six-round decision over Shaun Cooper. The feat saw the 34-year-old return to the win column after suffering a ninth-round stoppage to Alejandro Meneses one fight prior in his lone career defeat.
