Dana White Stands Firm That Mayweather-McGregor Rematch Talk is “All Bullsh!t”

UFC president Dana White is standing firm that any and all talk regarding a rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor is bullsh!t.

In 2017, Mayweather stopped McGregor, one of the UFC’s biggest stars, in the tenth round of a cross-sport boxing match at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event was one of the biggest financial successes in pay-per-view history.

Mayweather would retire from the sport in the aftermath. McGregor, who was making his pro debut as a boxer, would return to the UFC.

In recent weeks, reports began to surface that Mayweather and McGregor were in serious talks to face each other.

On Tuesday, The Sun reported that a deal was very close and the two sides were attempting to patch up some of the remaining terms.

McGregor is under contract with the UFC – and because of that he’s unable to fight anyone without the approval, and the involvement, of the UFC.

The former two-division UFC champion has not fought in the cage since breaking his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight in July 2021.

White says there is no chance of the rematch taking place, stating that McGregor’s next fight will take place in the UFC’s cage.

“All bullsh!t,” White said, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal. “Those guys are just talking on social media like they do. Whatever the hell that tabloid is called is full of sh!t.”

White went further, stating that he would need to be going through “dementia” in order to get on board with helping facilitate the rematch.
