Speaking with Sky Sports, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has grand designs on a matchup between two of boxing’s best fighters in Vasiliy Lomachenko and Shakur Stevenson later on this year.

Lomachenko is currently slated to take on George Kambosos this weekend in Perth and Arum continues to credit Lomachenko’s exceptional skill as a boxing technician. But Lomachenko isn’t the only one.

“I have this other fighter Shakur Stevenson, who is also a great technician,” Arum added. “So if Lomachenko wins and Shakur, who is scheduled to fight in July wins, then for the fall to do a Lomachenko-Shakur fight, every serious boxing fan will be watching that in awe between two great technicians fighting for a unified title.”

Stevenson is scheduled for a fight against Artem Harutyunyan on July 6 which isn’t a fight that will get most fans excited, but the prospect of him taking on Lomachenko is one that will certainly draw much more attention.
