‘He won’t have anything to do with it’: Ellerbe says Hearn won’t be involved in any Tank vs Haney negotiations

In response to Eddie Hearn’s recent public statements about the difficulties in negotiating a fight between Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Devin Haney, Leonard Ellerbe posted in a series of messages that their side holds all the cards and that offers cannot be made to Davis, as Tank commands the position of making offers based upon whatever he wants to do.

“One thing for certain,” Ellerbe posted on X, “if Tank decides he wants to fight in Saudi, Tank will deal directly and he damn sure won’t have anything to do with it. Just like (Hearn) tried to insert himself in the Ryan fight, you see how that played out.

“Also, if Tank and Haney fight, the offer will come from Tank on his terms and it will be made directly to them and he won’t have anything to do with it, that for sure.

“(Hearn) tried to insert himself in Tank and Ryan, it ain’t never happening buddy. Can’t offer Tank shit, if Tank wants to fight there, he’ll do it directly, tf would somebody need him to be in the middle of it for, gtfoh.”

Ellerbe has long had an openly contentious rivalry with Hearn that goes back at least several years now, with intermittent quips and threats from both sides. It seems clear that there’s still no love lost here, which certainly colors these comments.
