Kownacki Loses, Sianos Loses The Rulebook

Boxing Scene

Former heavyweight contender Adam Kownacki lost for the fifth consecutive time after being stopped by 12-1 (8 KOs) prospect Kacper Mayna.

They boxed in Koszalin in Poland and Mayna took just 45 seconds to get the job done, trapping Kownacki in the corner and firing off relentlessly with both hands, causing referee Leszek Jankowiak to intervene.

Thirty-four-year-old Kownacki is now 20-5 (15KOs) and his run of defeats includes two losses to Robert Helenius, and one each to Ali Eren Demirezen and Jo Cusumano.

In other notable action in Poland, debutant and former MMA competitor Marcin Sianos was thrown out and disqualified in the second round against Artur Bizewski when he tackled Bizewski to the canvas and started to ground-and-pound his opponent, with elbows – in a boxing match. Bizewski is now 9-0 (4 KOs) while Sianos is 0-1.

Unsurprisingly, there were some ugly scenes at ringside afterwards and a groggy Bizewski was eventually helped back to his feet.
