Morrell vs Cazares: Live coverage, 8 pm ET

Fighting

We’ve got some moderately rare Sunday night action for you tonight, as Premier Boxing Champions bring another blockbuster, superstar event to prime time network TV on FOX, featuring David Morrell facing Mario Cazares in the 12-round super middleweight main event.

We’ll have updates and highlights for the full three-fight card, plus round-by-round for the main event. All updates will come in this stream:

Morrell is defending his secondary WBA “world” (aka “regular”) belt here, a title nobody takes seriously as Canelo Alvarez is the true WBA champion at 168. But the 23-year-old Cuban southpaw is a fast-rising name at 168.

If you recognize Cazares’ name at all, it’s surely because of his upset win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr last year in Mexico. He was absolutely signed up so that Chavez could roll over him, but won a technical decision. He’s 30 years old and neither prospect nor contender, but he’s cashing in what notoriety that gave him for a big shot here.
