The wait is almost over for Naoya Inoue and Luis Nery

Latest

NAOYA Inoue and Luis Nery both weighed in on point, ahead of their Tokyo Dome clash tomorrow. Making weight in Japan hasn’t always been so easy for Nery who failed to make 118 when facing Shinsuke Yamanaka back in 2018. There was no such drama this time as he ticked the boxes ahead of the opportunity of a lifetime.

Sky Sports and ESPN+ televise the key portion of the card, affording a wider variety of fight fans the chance to enjoy one of the top pound-for-pound talents in action. Lethal to the body, Inoue is used to getting his business done quickly, and if Nery starts slowly, as has been the case in previous fights, then the curtain could close in the blink of an eye. Each fighter appeared healthy and comfortable at the weigh-in.

There are three world title fights featured on a packed undercard, including one-half of the Moloney brothers, Jason, who defends his WBO bantamweight strap. The brotherly love continues as Takuma Inoue gets a chance to be part of his sibling’s supporting cast, by defending his WBA bantamweight belt.

Seigo Yuri Akui puts his WBA flyweight crown on the line as well. Irishman TJ Doheny also features in a separate eight-rounder versus Bryl Bayogos. Both boxers were inside the 122-pound limit.
